Privacy Policy
WA Car Loans (wacarloans.com.au) is a trading name of Greenside Finance Pty Ltd, ABN 76 678 053 122 (“we”, “us”, “our”). Last updated 8 September 2026.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what information we collect through this website and when you deal with us, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and, where it applies, the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code.
What we collect
When you request a quote or enquire about a vehicle, we collect the details you give us — typically your name, mobile number and email address, and the vehicle you are interested in. If you go on to apply for finance, we collect the information lenders need to assess an application, which may include your date of birth, address, identification documents, employment and income details, expenses, assets and liabilities, and information about your credit history.
We also collect some information automatically when you use this website, such as your device type, browser, approximate location, pages viewed and how you arrived at the site (for example, from an advertisement). See “Cookies and advertising” below.
Why we collect it
- To contact you about your enquiry and discuss car finance options.
- To assess your requirements and objectives, and to arrange and manage finance applications with lenders on your behalf.
- To verify your identity and comply with our legal obligations, including under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 and anti-money laundering laws.
- To improve this website and our services, and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
- With your consent, to let you know about offers or services we think may interest you. You can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
To arrange finance we may share your information with lenders and credit providers on our panel, our Australian Credit Licence holder (Fintelligence Pty Ltd, Australian Credit Licence 511803) and its aggregation platform, credit reporting bodies (with your consent, when you apply), insurers and valuers, and service providers who help us run our business, such as IT, software and customer-relationship platforms. We only share what is needed for the purpose, and we require these parties to keep your information secure.
We do not sell your personal information. Some of our service providers store data outside Australia (for example, in the United States); where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected in a way that is consistent with Australian privacy law.
Credit information
If you apply for finance, lenders and, in some cases, we may obtain credit reports from credit reporting bodies such as Equifax, Experian or illion. Simply requesting a quote through this website does not involve a credit check. Before any credit report is obtained we will explain what will happen and ask for your consent. You can ask us for details of the credit reporting bodies we or our lenders use and how they manage credit information.
Cookies and advertising
This website may use cookies and similar technologies, including Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google advertising and analytics tools, to understand how visitors use the site and to measure and improve our advertising. These tools may record that you visited our site or requested a quote and may be used to show you relevant advertising on other platforms. You can control cookies through your browser settings and manage advertising preferences through your Meta and Google account settings.
How we keep it secure
We store personal information in secure, access-controlled systems and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above or as required by law.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by calling 1800 147 336 or by using the enquiry form on our website. If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first and we will respond promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) at afca.org.au or 1800 931 678.
